NHS Business Professionals of America enjoys success on state, national level

The Newton High School chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) is celebrating a season of achievement, leadership, and advancement to the national stage.

NHS Business Professionals of America (BPA) chapter sent five students to the National BPA Conference last week in Orlando, Florida with advisor, Jessica Crabtree.

Leah Weldon competed in Interview Skills and Torch Points, Dayali Sanchez competed in Computer Security where she received a certification in Networking Systems from Certiport and also qualified in Torch Points, Sophia Eicher competed in open events, and Sirynn Powell and Riley Peck also qualified with Torch Points.

The Torch Awards Program encourages personal growth and leadership  development—hallmarks of BPA’s mission to prepare students for success in business and professional careers.

"All five students had the opportunity to attend various workshops on a multitude of topics, participate in an internship at the conference, take open event tests, and meet students from other states while pin trading! It was a great conference for all students," Mrs. Crabtree shared.

Making Newton High School BPA history, two students have been elected to serve as State Officers on the Kansas BPA Officer Team. Leah Weldon will serve as the 2025 Kansas BPA State Treasurer, and Dayali Sanchez has been elected State President, the highest student leadership role in Kansas BPA.

Their elections reflect both the strength of Newton’s BPA chapter and the exceptional character and leadership of these students. Congratulations! #RailerPride
